He Gave His Life

My Lord died on Calvary
He gave his life for you and me
The pain he braved was so sever
Oh to only wipe his tear

Do you know what price he paid?
So you and I could now be saved
He endured our sins upon the cross
He gave it all, his life he lost

They hated him for words he taught
With his blood our souls were bought
And when he died they took him down
Upon his head a thorny crown

They wrapped him up and was so groomed
To lay him down inside a tomb
Outside the door they placed a rock
For all intent the entrance blocked

Jesus arose on his third day
He rolled the giant rock away
The angels sang the heavens roared
He lives again my precious Lord

Oh what a gift he gave to man
So we may die and live again
To greet him on that distant shore
Where pain and suffering stay no more

My Lord died on Calvary
He gave his life for you and me
The pain he braved was so sever
Oh to only wipe his tear
