Soldiers of Christ rise up and hear,
Your God calls you to fight!
Your enemies are always near;
Use all your strength and might!

Though world and flesh may win a day,
Let not your courage pale,
Draw out the two-edg’d sword and pray.
The Lord God will not fail!

Be ever watchful for the way
They next will test your might,
And thus their forces keep at bay;
Stand vigil through the night.

Then with the dawn we’ll stand and hail
Our righteous Lord and King.
The Gates of Hell shall not prevail
For death has lost its sting.
