In God We Trust
We stand together, hand
in hand,
One people in this Promised Land.
We will not break, we will not bend,
We hold the Christ as Saviour, friend.
Though kingdoms fall and turn to dust,
One truth remains: in God we trust.
When sunlight fills the morning sky,
And dawn breaks fresh upon the eye,
Who then can turn us from our goal
To make each day food for the soul?
Our hopes are high, our cause is just,
We need not fear: in God we trust.
When shadows creep across the sky
And darkness falls as day goes by,
We greet the guardian of the night,
The Prince of Peace, the King of Light,
And in the deep sleep of the just,
We rest assured, in God we trust.
Though victory may seem far away,
Our foes will never win the day.
Their god is self, their word is hate,
Our cause is good, our God is great.
So sing we shall for sing we must,
This sure refrain: in God we trust.
